What's Involved in an AC Tune Up?
Here are the most important steps taken by our professional HVAC technicians during a cooling system tune up:
Step 1: Cleaning the System
Dirty AC systems function at a lower energy efficiency because the dust and grime gets in the way of the moving parts. Depending on the type of cooling system, when they are very dirty there is a risk of catching fire.
The takeaway? Clean systems are safe and operate more efficiently, saving you money on your monthly utility bills.
Step 2: Visual Inspection of the Air Conditioner
Our HVAC professionals will inspect every inch of your air conditioner for cracks, general wear and tear, and other signals of growing problems.
Without a visual inspection, important parts and components of your system are at risk of failure.
Part replacement can be very expensive, but even worse, if the component is vital to the operation of the AC unit, the entire system may need to be replaced.
Step 3: Testing Vital Components of the System

This includes calibrating thermostats and testing thermostat controls, and checking that air pressure and airflow are at the correct levels.
